Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak

Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak has been selling the famed Nasi Lemak from this humble store since 1971. This Nasi Lemak is probably the pinnacle of all Nasi Lemak since every component of the dish—from the tender coconut rice to the succulent chicken—was perfectly cooked. Queue is long during peak hours but they move really fast.

Moreover, they are well known for their late closing hours till 330am to satisfy all the late night hungry owls. Remember to check out their signature chicken set which comes with a chicken wing, a seared egg, Ikan Bilis, peanuts, and sweet spicy sambal chilli.
Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak Address : Boon Lay Market & Food Centre - 221A Boon Lay Place, #01-106, S641221 Opening Hours: 630am – 330am (Daily)
Banana Leaf Nasi Lemak

The coconut rice in Banana Leaf Nasi Lemak is its best feature. It has a smooth, dry surface that feels nicer in my mouth and an incredibly strong coconut fragrance. Along with the fragrant rice, the sambal chilli is also fantastic. It is nevertheless quite filling even though it is not as popular as its competitor Power Nasi Lemak stall.
Banana Leaf Nasi Lemak Address : Boon Lay Market & Food Centre - 221A Boon Lay Place, #01-132, S641221 Opening Hours: 9am – 10pm (Closed on Monday)
Ghee Huat Fried Kway Teow

Their signature Char Kway Teow and Fried Oyster Omelet at Ghee Huat Fried Kway Teow are well-known. People adore the Char Kway Teow because of its extraordinarily rich and delicate flavor. The noodles’ outside is also excellent which is neither overly wet nor dry. Cockles are quite fresh and chewy. This is perhaps my favorite comfort dish in the entire peddling district.

Also excellent is the Fried Oyster Omelet. It has worked out how to strike the perfect balance of crunchy omelet chunks, bland fresh pieces, and gooey monotonous custard. Another incredibly satisfying consolation dish is the egg omelet, which pairs superbly with the huge, meaty, and fresh clams.
Ghee Huat Fried Kway Teow Address : Boon Lay Market & Food Centre - 221A Boon Lay Place, #01-111, S641221 Opening Hours: 12pm – 10pm (Closed on Thursday)
Lin Ji Fish Soup and Porridge

One of my favourite fish soup slurps in Singapore is Lin Ji Fish Soup and Porridge. People enjoy going there because the fish soup is incredibly good and fresh. Moreover, the lady boss is always friendly and considerate. Menu includes Red Grouper Fish Head Soup, Red Grouper Sliced Fish Soup, Sliced Fish Soup, Fish Porridge, Sliced Fish Bee Hoon, Fish Head Soup & more.

The soup has the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, and the fresh coriander aroma enhances the mild flavour. The fish slices given are generous and they are deliciously fresh with a firm and delicate surface. Perfect to dip them with their homemade chilli sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker

Xing Sheng Ngor Hiang Prawn Cracker has been around since Boon Lay Market & Food Centre started in 1970s. They also have another outlet at Taman Jurong Food Centre listed below.
Their ngor hiang and prawn fritters are the crowd favours. The dainty-looking pan-fried ngor hiang will sneaks up to you with its meaty savoury sweet and salty flavour. The crispy disc-shaped prawn cracker is the other favourite that literally melt-in-your-mouth despite being light, airy, sweet-smelling and it doesn’t leave an oily trail.

Ho Huat Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee

Ho Huat Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee stall is another crowd favourite with their signature Fried Hokkien Mee and Fried Rice. Their Fried Hokkien Mee cooking style is a bit wet and soggy.

The plate of noodles becomes more extravagant, with increased warmth and profundity, by squeezing the lime and integrating their garlic sambal chilli completely into the noodles. Along with eggs, prawns and sotong, you can also discover cuts of pork from the middle.

Lian Yi BBQ Seafood

The BBQ stingray, drenched in sambal sauce, is a must-try. With a spoon, robust and delicate meat can be easily scraped from the bones. Every key component is a magnificent union of flavours, with a pleasant amount of fieriness.

The signature sambal barbeque stingray at Lian Yi BBQ Seafood is simply one of the best. Our jaws never fail to wet when we hear the sizzling noises and see the smokey floats that are waiting over the hotplates. Fish prices range from $8 to $25, sotong prices from $8 to $15, prawn prices from $20 to $50, and lala prices from $10 to $15.

Boon Lay Fried Carrot Cake & Kway Teow Mee

Both “dark” and “white” varieties of Boon Lay Fried Carrot Cake and Kway Teow Mee are available. The rich, varied flavors of the white carrot cake have made it famous. Prices starting from $3.

Extremely fragrant with lot of eggs and you can taste a burst of eggyness with every bite. A satisfying dish of carrot cake is created when the delectable carrot cake, firm eggs, and chye poh perfectly combine. The dark version is also tasty with savoury sweetness from the sweet dark sauce added.

Heng Hua Boon Lay Boneless Duck Noodles

Heng Huat Boon Lay Boneless Duck Noodles is another popular stall as they usually have their ducks sold out by around 9am. That is why they frequently close before the stated closing times.
You must try their signature Dry Duck Noodles with Braised Pork at $5.50. The braised pork belly is fatty and chewy, with great potion of fats. The duck meat has a pleasant aroma with perfect slice thickness. Their gravy is thick, silky, and bursting with reviving aromas and flavours of earthy colored sauce for this dish. Come early if you want to try their dishes without making a wasted trip.

Boon Lay Satay

Boon Lay Satay is one of the few satay joints that sell pork satay as it is run by a Chinese couple. You can choose among sticks of chicken, mutton, or pork with each stick costs 60¢.

The burnt flavor permeated the entire piece of meat, which is tender and juicy. The peanut sauce was smooth with a distinctive nutty flavour. Favourite pick should be chicken and pork, as they are both tender with meaty chunks. Do note that you might have to wait 30 – 40 mins during peak hours.

I.Mohamed Ismail Food Stall

A popular and friendly Indian stall known for its mouthwatering Roti Prata is I.Mohamed Ismail Food Stall.

Their Roti Prata is soft, light and airy even after you packed it back home for 30 mins. Perfect to enjoy it with their mutton curry with a burst of spices flavours after every mouth. Stall sell Briyani and Murtabak in the afternoon and it is always packed with crowds.
