It is an old estate that has been nicely maintained and refurbished to provide residents a clean and pleasant dining environment. A medium size market and Food Centre, comprising of 56 cooked food stalls and 123 market stalls, offering a wide variety of groceries, food and beverages.

Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice is indeed a hidden gem in Chong Pang Market Food Centre with no publicity or little social media present. Loyal fans knew of the goodness of this stall and will queue as long as 30 mins during peak hours just to try their food. Even Michelin inspectors agreed and awarded this stall a Michelin Plate in 2022.
The roast chicken is perfectly roasted to golden brown with five spice mix & herbs. The meat is tender, flavorful and succulent after every bite. The rice is a bit greasy but fluffy and fragrant. Spice your meal up with a dash of their homemade delightfully gingery & garlicky chili sauce that is rather hot and spicy.
Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice has just been promoted to Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2023.

Xiang Xiang Fishball Noodle has been serving customers for more than 40 years and noodles are their specialty. This stall is well-liked by regulars and has won a Michelin Plate award last year. This stall offers cheap and affordable meals at $3.50 and that is why do expect to wait for at least 30 – 40 minutes for your order.
Fish ball noodles, mee pok, and mee sua are hearty options. The dry fish ball noodles are a great value and come with chewy fish balls, crispy fishcake pieces, crunchy bean sprouts, and your choice of noodles. Absolutely satisfying!

Hainan Zi 海南仔 (Michelin Bib Gourmand)

Hainan Zi is the latest entrants to be awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2022 for their outstanding Char Kway Teow.
Menu also includes fried oyster omelet, fried Hokkien noodle and carrot cake.
Their Char Kway Teow was pretty good as it was rather wet and sweet. Silky, well-fried noodles wrapped in a savory and sweet sauce combined with vegetables, Chinese sausage and cockles. But the Wok Hei is pretty lacking as compared to those famous Michelin Bib Gourmand’s Char Kway Teow Stalls like Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee or Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow. This Char Kway Teow may lack some characteristics but will be a decent choice if you have craving for it.

Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck (Michelin Bib Gourmand)

Chuan Kee Boneless Braised duck is one of the most popular braised duck stall in Singapore, with their main stall situated at Ghim Moh Market, which is a regular winner of Michelin Bib Gourmand award. They serve Teochew-style braised duck sourced directly from Malaysia.
Their signature duck rice set meals priced at $3.80, $4.80 and $5.80 come with yam rice, braised duck meat, peanuts, tofu, egg and a bowl of soup. Duck meat was tender and moist, while the yam rice was fragrant and fluffy, drizzled in a dark thick savory sauce. You can smell the aromatic herbal flavor of the soup from far. Don’t miss out on their sambal chili as they are super delicious and packed with spicy punch.

Tian Ji Shu Shi, which serves their signature prawn mee at $3, is a popular stall known for its long queues. They offer a variety of prawn noodles including Supreme Pork Ribs Noodle, Pork Ribs & Prawn Noodle and Pig’s tail noodle come at $5 a bowl.
The serving is pretty generous with prawns, pork ribs, fish cakes, meat slices, bean sprouts and a bowl of soup. The noodles are al-dente and tossed in both chili paste and ketchup. Soup is clear and light which complement the dish well. The highlight of the dish is the large fresh prawns and heaping helpings of fried pork lards, which is so satisfying!

Ho Heng Kway Chap

Ho Heng Kway Chap is popular for their kway chap that will make you want to slurp it up. Rice noodle sheets are dipped in a herbal broth and topped with fried shallots and coriander.
Mix of braised pork belly, intestines, pig skin, tau kwa, tau pok, salted veggies, braised eggs, and different organs are just a few of the delicious options for sides that are eaten with generous amounts of chili sauce. A set meal will cost you a reasonable price of $5.

Old Chong Pang Wu Xiang

Old Chong Pang Wu Xiang offers a great variety of ngo hiang pieces with fried bee hoon. Each ingredient is priced at $1.20 onwards and they include Chinese sausage, fish cake, preserved egg, fried seafood rolls of all kinds, meat-based dishes, crispy prawn cracker and more.
The fish cake and sausages are soft and springy with nice flavors. Prawn crackers are crispy and chewy, while the fried bee hoon are rather decent and moist. Do note that stall will collect a $10 deposit from you first and return you the change when food is served. Some might not like the idea as seen from the negative feedback.

Nee Soon Fish Head Mee Hoon has been in operation at Chong Pang Market since 1995. Their signature dish is their Mee Hoon Kway with fans raving that it is the best in the North. Menu includes mee hoon kway, sliced fish soup, and porridge.
The $4.50 fish soup was served with plenty thick fish slices, tofu, tomatoes, vegetables and sprinkle with spring onions.
The broth was clear and flavorful. Best to complement with their plain rice and cut chili for a perfect meal.

If you’re looking for a comforting bowl of Mutton Soup, you should stop by Chong Pang Pig’s Organ Soup & Herbal Mutton Soup. Regulars will regard the Mutton Soup here to be both filling and delicious. Xu Zhong Xing Satay has been operating in Chong Pang market for more than 30 years with some fans declaring it the best satay in the North. The queue is rather long on weekend and the waiting time can easily exceed one hour. Stall offers Pork, Chicken, Mutton Satays and Ketupat at 80¢ each.
The satays with plump juicy fat meat were well marinated. Grilled to perfection with slightly charred edges and smoky robust fragrant. Dipped into their thick, rich and flavorful peanut sauce for divine pleasure. Filled with peanuts bits and rich creamy taste. Great to complete your meal with the accompanied sliced onions and cucumbers.

Super Penyet is a popular Muslim stall at Chong Pang Market operated by 100% Muslim owned establishment for many years. Stall is famous for its Ayam Penyet and is considered by many with the most incredible fried chicken in Yishun. Stall offers Nasi Lemak at $4, Nasi Goreng Ayam Penyet at $7.50, Nasi Ayam Penyet at $6.50, Ikan Penyet at $9 and Nasi Goreng Kampung at $6.
Chicken rice is fluffy and fragrant, and served with a bowl of clear soup. The fried chicken is well marinated and crispy. It is served with a spicy sambal that complements the chicken’s crackling exterior and succulent interior.
