White carrot cake was generous in portion with ample amount of eggs. It was also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their black carrot cake is drenched in black sauce with the right amount of sweet and salty flavors. You will be pleasantly surprised by the nice Wok-Hei taste after the first bite. Absolutely delicious!

The secret of their success is that their carrot cakes are all freshly homemade to ensure the quality and that is why only limited portion are available daily. Remember to come early before they are all sold out!

You have to be there early if you want to sample the food at Lao Chao Zhou. They are completely sold out early in the afternoon. The Satay Bee Hoon and Mee Siam dishes are very flavorful with just the right amount of ingredients to complement each dish.

These dishes take transport you back to old-school recipes and meals served at home. Stall is very popular and you must bring along a large dose of patience to enjoy the food.

Heavens was previously known as Heaven’s Indian Curry, and they serve heavenly Indian dishes. They only have three items on their menu which are Appam, Thosai, and Putu Mayam. The Appam and Thosai are 2 of their favor signatures dishes.

The owner of Ghim Mow Chwee Kueh has worked with his family in this stall since he was a boy and keeps the family traditions alive for decades. Stall still handmade their Chwee Kueh the old traditional way in the early morning daily.

Their Chwee Kueh are so soft, tender and melt in your mouth. The Cai Poh (salted radish) might be a bit salty, but they are delicious, as compared to the sweet Cai Poh sold elsewhere. Cai Poh has a nice tender and slightly crunchy texture as they are soaked in lard oil and slowly cooked for hours, which contributes greatly to the lovely flavor. Price at $2.40 for 4 pieces.

This stall is also listed in the Singapore Michelin Guide for several years.

Durians, King of fruits, are only available in durian seasons which are from June till Aug and Dec till Feb. They have a sweet fragrance and bittersweet taste, and it is a popular delicacy from Southeast Asia. A very expensive fruits with popular type like Mao Shan Wang or Black pearl selling at $18 – $25 per kg.

Ah Seng Durian, one of the oldest durian vendors, is a very trusted durian provider in Singapore and that is why their waiting time can be as long as one hour or more. Although their prices are not cheapest, but their durian quality are definitely superb. Ah Seng regularly makes personal visits to various durian plantations in Malaysia, select the best and bring them over to Singapore.
