The Michelin Guide Singapore awarded Ivy’s Hainanese Herbal Mutton Soup with Michelin Plate award since 2017 for their delicious Herbal mutton soup, herbal tendon soup and herbal tulang soup. Nevertheless, the dish is still tasty with lots of wok hei, and a slightly sweet and addicting flavour. To finish the char kway teow, a mound of boiling Chye sim is piled on top of the fried noodles filled with bean sprouts, fish cakes and cockles.

Meng Kee Seafood
We tried some of their zi char dishes and they were fantastic. Starting with their signature white pepper lala, which is a nice change from the usual sambal style. The fried omelette was chewy and crisp. The deep fried pork definitely worth the calories. Sambal squid slices were fresh and chewy, with lots of spiciness from the sambal chilli. The Tou Fu dish was smoothed and awesome, in fried garlic bits. Food served pretty fast and price was reasonable. A full and fantastic meal!

Chong Jia Food
Many people go to Chong Jia Food because of their reasonably priced Taiwanese braised pork dishes that come with either noodles or rice. Taiwanese braised pork dish ($5) is their signature dish and its highly recommended, which has delicate pork belly cubes braised in a dark soy sauce-based gravy and served with a hard-boiled egg and stewed peanuts. The minced meat was well braised and complement perfectly with the short-grain rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds. This lovely dish taste exactly like those we had in Taiwan.

Your time is toasted till it’s crunchy. The tau pok, on the other hand, is a bit mushy but tasty. You can add in the tasty century egg that served with sliced ginger.

Yusoff Haji Jalal Satay
Yusoff Haji Jalal Satay, a Muslim Halal stall, was once known as the legendary Satay Club that our older folks used to frequent in the past.
You can count on tender slices of meat skewered with a bit of fats. The skewers are coated with a sweet and savoury marinade that gives them their trademark red colour. The skewers are grilled to perfection, resulting in the signature smoky flavours and flecks of carcinogenic char that you crave.
