Yung Sheng Food Centre and Taman Jurong Market was later demolished in 2005 to become Taman Jurong Food Centre and Market.

Feng Zhen Lor Mee (Michelin Guide)

Feng Zhen Lor Mee Stall

58 Minced Meat Noodles

With its modest bowl of minced beef noodles, 58 Minced Meat Noodle has gained a devoted following since it originally debuted in 1973. Their Bak Chor Mee ($5/$6) doesn’t include meatballs or dumplings because the stand relies on a straightforward yet hearty combination of minced pork, sliced pork, and pork liver.

The highlight of this dish is unquestionably the pig liver. It is blanched and has a mouth wateringly soft bite despite being cut thinly. The pig liver, bursting with meaty richness and savory undertones, supports the noodles.

You’ll get a mouthful of strongly flavoured noodles, creamy pork fat, and a sweet but salty sauce. These al dente noodles will captivate you with their seductively chewy bite. The superb way to start the day with a steaming bowl of bak chor mee.

It is not difficult to discover a long queue of hungry customers waiting for plates of mouth-watering roast meats on rice at Tien Lai Rice Stall, located at the back of the food centre. Avoid dining during peak hours as they could be busy filling large orders for neighbouring workers and office crowds.

Stall offers Roasted Duck rice, Char Siew Rice, Roast Pork Rice, Soy Sauce Chicken Rice & more with prices starting from $3 onwards. All the dishes are nice with special mention on their Roast duck and Char Siew. Roast duck meat was well marinated and roasted perfectly with crispy skin and tender meat. Char siew was beautifully charred and succulent with the right amount of fats and lean meat. Taste even better after drizzling with their sweet sauce on top.

Remember to go there early to avoid disappointment as they are quickly sold out around 12pm.

The ButterNut Chicken Pizza is the standout item at this stall. For only $9.90, you can purchase a thin-crust pizza with large amounts of chicken and butternut squash spread over a tomato sauce foundation. The melty, gooey cheese goes wonderfully with the flaky pastry crust.

However, if butternut squash isn’t quite your thing, try their mushroom truffle pizza ($11.30). The richer flavour profile of this pizza lets you experience the pleasing pungency of the truffle oil. Additionally, the mushrooms offer a satisfying bite.

They also provide chicken nuggets, onion rings, and standard fries, which means this kiosk truly has something for everyone.

The fish is covered in a thick layer of spicy but not overly hot sambal sauce. Slices of raw onion served as a counterpoint to the flavourful ingredients. The stingray meat was soft and succulent with smoky savour flavour. Remember to squeeze the calamansi to add sweet-tangy taste to complement the dish.

While the sambal stingray is BBQ Seafood’s specialty, their other meals are also excellent. Don’t forget to look at their Sambal Petai ($7), Sambal Kangkong ($12), and Sambal Sotong ($12).
